PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains what data Undertale: Multiverse Team ("UMT", "we", "us") collects when you use our Discord bots — UMT Bot and Sans' Hotdog Calamity ("the Bots") — or visit this website, and how we use it. UMT is operated by Mazin. We're a small studio: we don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across the web.

1. WHO THIS APPLIES TO
This policy applies when you use UMT Bot (App ID: 1486816754976952523), Sans' Hotdog Calamity (App ID: 1508166950918815936), our Discord server, or this website (umtbot.com).
2. WHAT WE COLLECT
FROM DISCORD (BOTH BOTS)
- Your Discord User ID — used to identify your account and tie progress to you.
- Server and channel IDs — only when you run commands, so the Bots respond in the right place.
- Command inputs you provide (e.g. character names, arguments).
We do not read your DMs or messages outside of bot commands, and we don't track your activity in other servers.
UMT BOT — GAMEPLAY DATA
- Characters owned (level, EXP, shiny status, locked status)
- Currency balances (DT Vials, Determination, Soul Essence)
- Inventory items, team setup (up to 6 characters), and crafting/fusion records
- PvP records, achievements, and leaderboard stats (damage, wealth, wins)
- Gacha pull history and cooldowns
- Anti-abuse data — input timing for macro detection (not stored long-term)
- Moderation logs for mod actions (resets, item adjustments)
SANS' HOTDOG CALAMITY — GAMEPLAY DATA
- Your coin balance
- Shift statistics: customers served, hotdogs served, drinks served, items completed, total earnings
- Perfect order streaks
- Daily challenge state (which challenges are active and completed) and progress counters
- Challenge tier completions (Easy, Medium, Hard, Extreme)
- Skip token usage and balance
- Shift timestamps (for cooldowns and daily resets)
FROM THIS WEBSITE
This site doesn't run analytics, set tracking cookies, or use third-party trackers. The one exception is the support form on our Support page: if you choose to send us a message, we collect the Discord username, email address, optional Discord User ID, and message content you submit. This is delivered to us through a third-party form processor (Web3Forms) and is used only to read and reply to your message. We don't add you to any mailing list. Your hosting provider may also keep basic anonymized access logs that we don't access or use.
3. WHY WE COLLECT IT
We collect this data for one reason: to make our games work and keep your progress. Specifically, to save progress between sessions; run leaderboards, PvP, gacha, and the shop (UMT Bot); track and reset daily challenges (Hotdog Calamity); detect macro abuse and exploits; debug issues you report; and operate moderator tools.
4. WHAT WE DON'T DO
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising or marketing.
- We do not read your Discord DMs or messages outside of bot commands.
- We do not store your Discord username, avatar, or email beyond what's needed to operate the Bots.
- We do not store passwords or payment info (Discord handles auth; we don't take payments).
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Our Bots run on Discord's infrastructure and are subject to Discord's Privacy Policy. We use bot hosting and database providers solely to keep the Bots online and store gameplay data. We don't share data with them for any marketing purpose.
6. DATA RETENTION
Player data is stored in databases on the server hosting our Bots. Access is limited to Mazin and Dusty. We retain your data while your account is active so your progress is preserved; inactive accounts persist until you request deletion. Banned accounts are retained for moderation purposes. Data is not encrypted at rest, so please don't send sensitive information through bot commands — it's not designed for that.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask us to:
- Export your data — get a copy of what we store about you.
- Delete your account — wipe your game progress entirely (irreversible).
- Reset specific bot data — e.g. wipe Hotdog progress but keep UMT.
- Correct data — fix incorrect information.
To make a request, message us on Discord or email contactmazin@umtbot.com with your Discord User ID and which bot it applies to.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our Bots are intended for users 13 and older, in line with Discord's Terms. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used our Bots, contact us and we'll remove their data.
9. SECURITY
We take reasonable steps to protect stored data, but no system is 100% secure. If a breach affects user data, we'll notify affected users via Discord and email within a reasonable timeframe.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we update this policy, the "Effective" date will change. Major changes — especially new data fields — will be announced in our Discord server.
